Who we are
GroenLinks Utrecht is a prominent, left political party in the city, advocating for a sustainable, inclusive, and equitable society. With over 3,500 members, it stands as one of the largest GroenLinks chapters in the Netherlands and currently holds nine out of 45 seats in the Utrecht City Council.
Our Core Values
- Environmental Sustainability: We prioritize the protection of our planet and its ecosystems. Our policies are designed to ensure that natural resources are used responsibly, preserving them for current and future generations. We see the environmental questions as interconnected with systematic issues and believe that climate activism with a focus on equity is essential.
- Social Justice: We advocate for a fair distribution of wealth and opportunities. Our goal is to create a society where every individual has access to employment, education, healthcare, and leisure, irrespective of their background.
- Inclusivity and Participation: We believe in a pluralistic society where everyone can participate freely. Our commitment lies in fostering a community that embraces diversity, promotes equal rights, and encourages active civic engagement.

GroenLinks Utrecht believes that meaningful change arises from collective action, both big and small. We invite everyone to join our movement to collaboratively shape the future of Utrecht. Opportunities for involvement include participating in local campaigns, attending events, or contributing to various working groups. While most events and groups are fully dutchspeaking, GroenLinks Utrecht wants to actively engage non-dutchspeaking people in municipal politics and believes that everyone who lives in Utrecht should have a say.
